Mood Board | Tulle Me Once

July 27th, 2011

Was inspired by that top photo of flirty layers of canteloupe-colored tulle. It’s a pretty color for the summer and works well with a bright green. Use some neutral tones to keep it soft and romantic.

Color Series | 26 | Lilac + Azure

July 27th, 2011

Some photos are so masterfully taken. They capture that perfect combination of mood, color, and fashion. Here is one taken by Sebastian Faena for V Magazine from Summer 2008. It’s 3 years old, but I’m confident that this photo will become one of those iconic photos that he will be recognized for.

Color Series | 23 | Ruven Afanador

July 25th, 2011

These photos are from an editorial campaign that Ruven Afanador did for Badgley Mischka bridal about a decade ago. I recall cutting them out and holding onto the images because I was stunned by the styling. At the time, about a decade ago, most bridal editorials photos were the pose-y shots that you would see in bridal catalogues. I think a handful or photographers, Ruven Afanador being among them, took the industry in a new direction by infusing fashion and portrait-style photos into their ad campaigns.

These images are so regal and timeless that I wanted to post them as inspiration. What are some inspirational images that you recall falling in love with when you first saw them?

Color Series | 22 | Givenchy Couture A/W 11/12

July 25th, 2011

Utterly breathtaking looks from Givenchy Couture A/W 2012. Not a lot of color in the haute couture pieces themselves, but the lookbook was still inspiring all the same.

Muse Board | Farm Fresh

July 23rd, 2011

Living in a city as large as LA and having to deal with traffic even on weekends can take a toll on a person. Sometimes I think about what it would be like living on a farm with acres of land around me. The thought of fresh air and having my own garden where I can grow flowers and vegetables seems so appealing. I was inspired to create this board thinking about barn reds and apple greens.

Mood board based on farm and country theme, red, white, apple green.
